How it works

From first call to finished job

  1. Step 1

    Share your project

Driveway, patio, slab or repair: tell us the rough size, the finish you have in mind and your address. Photos of the area help.

  2. Step 2

    Measure and plan

The area is measured and checked for slope, drainage, access for the concrete truck and any old concrete that has to come out.

  3. Step 3

    A clear quote

You get a quote that spells out the size, thickness, base, reinforcement, finish and removal of old concrete, so you know what's included.

  4. Step 4

    Prep, pour and cure

The ground is excavated, the base compacted and the forms set, then the concrete is poured, finished and jointed. You'll know how long to wait before walking or driving on it.

What clients say

5.0

“Just wanted to say what a beautiful job you did for us on our patio and front entrance. It is such a pleasure to see someone that really cares and takes such good care of his customers.”

Bob & Marilyn Mahler

“Just a note to say thank you for your work repairing the crack in our basement. I had no idea how much effort it would be to dig out the foundation, prepare the surface, fill the crack, waterproof the side of the foundation and restore the ground to the original condition. You were very thoughtful in keeping us informed of the steps you would be taking and well organized in implementing your plan. The quality of your workmanship was outstanding. I have great confidence in what you did and even though it is below ground level, I know that it was done correctly and the repair will last.”

Gary and Sue

“The driveway and sidewalks look terrific. Thanks so much for your hard work.”

FAQ

Specialized Waterproofing: common questions

How long before I can use new concrete?

Concrete keeps gaining strength for weeks. Foot traffic is usually fine after a day or two, cars after about a week, and heavy vehicles later than that. Temperature and the mix change the timing, so follow the instructions given for your pour.

Will my new concrete crack?

Concrete shrinks as it cures, and some cracking is normal. Control joints are cut or tooled into the slab so cracks form along straight, planned lines instead of at random. A well-compacted base, the right thickness and reinforcement keep cracks small and tight.

Can concrete be poured in cold or hot weather?

Yes, with precautions. In cold weather, fresh concrete must be kept from freezing while it cures, often under insulated blankets, and it's never poured on frozen ground. In hot weather it sets faster, so pours start early in the day and the surface is kept from drying out too soon.

Should I seal my concrete?

Sealing helps outdoor concrete resist water, de-icing salts, oil stains and freeze-thaw damage, and keeps colored and stamped concrete looking fresh. Timing depends on the product: some sealers go on right after finishing, others once the concrete has cured for about a month. Most need reapplying every few years.

Do I need a permit for concrete work?

It depends on the city. Driveway aprons and public sidewalks usually need a permit because they connect to the street, and some cities require one for new driveways or larger slabs. Patios and walkways on private property often don't. Check with your city or HOA.
